I guess it took a little while longer to post in 2009 than I thought. So this is my first post this year. Noting special as usual.  The site is now running on a Rackspace Cloud server. The previous host, A Small Orange was fine and I didn’t really have any complaints but I wanted to have a real server and the Rackspace Cloud Server was a cheap solution.  I have my very own Centos instance running in less than 30 minutes (They take about 15-20 minutes to call your go verify the the account).

Gym Annoyances

Going to the gym and working out is hard enough for me but lately it’s been kind of rough. First the gym I go to is a "fitness center" and not a real gym. I guess it’s to bring in people that don’t want a real gym. Now I wish there was a real gym close to me but there isn’t. Lately since I’ve been spending more time in the gym, I’ve notice several annoying things.

First annoying thing is ridiculous amount of stretching that people do. Especially guys. I wish I had a taser for every time a guy bends over and starts stretching in front of me. Nobody wants to see somebody’s chicken legs flex out.

Gyms shouldn’t play radio stations that are "we play anything" kind of radio stations. There is nothing more annoying than listening to a radio station playing some classic rock song and then blasting Celine Dion at the same volume.

I have no idea who makes the fingerless leather gloves but I know they make a killing buy selling them to the idiots that go to my gym. I guess getting a calace on your hand from working out is a terrible thing. It’s amazing how many people that wear these glove. It’s mostly warn by people that barely work out.

Another thing that I hate is when five or six guys decide they all need to work out together and show off that they can do one rep of something very heavy. I’m sure that these morons play darts together too but all this activity does is take up space in the gym and nobody cares that you can lift something really heavy once. You might as well just bring in a refrigerator to the parking lot and lift that up once.

The gym I go to isn’t very big but that they do have quite a big of equipment and that leads me to my next annoyance and that is equipment hoarding. I understand that people might want to get all their exercises done in a timely fashion but I hate it when some ass hole takes, four or five different pieces of weight equipment and then stashes it over by another machine. So not only does the tool bag have a bunch of stuff that somebody might need, he’s also taking up a weight machine.

Proof that the writers strike is hitting harder. American Gladiators make it back on TV. It seems there was a lack of comedy on TV, so NBC plopped this thing back on TV. It’s always fun to see some "normal" person get knocked into a wall by somebody named Wolf, who happens to also howl. I was shocked that the Arnold rip off didn’t say "I’ll Be Back" during each commercial.

The other funny thing was that during a commercial they showed a preview for a new Knight Rider. I can hardly wait for the remakes of Riptide, Highway To Heaven, JJ Starbuck, and BJ and The Bear.

Zimbra 5.0 Released

zimbra-logo

There are mail server software packages besides Microsoft Exchange. Zimbra does mail but does it much differently. It’s basically like owning your own Gmail software package but with more features like mashable applications, and a desktop client . In 5.0 Zimbra keeps doing the whole Web 2.0 and AJAX thing. Over 5000 features and bugs squashing’s have gone on in version 5.0. Don’t believe me? Just access the Zimbra bugzilla and you can see what they are working on. All the new features and bugs being worked on. I’ve been working a lot lately with Zimbra 4.5.7 and can’t wait to use 5.0.
