It’s too bad that I wasn’t using Entrecard a year when I had to put in serious effort to stay awake at my last job. I’ve been using Entrecard for a few months and I’ve discovered some interesting sites. I’ve also discovered that there are a lot more of “make money blogging” sites than I thought. There are also tons of sites that just talk about Entrecard. I’m not sure how great of a traffic driver EC is but that’s for one of those Entrecard dedicated sites to discuss. I just like looking at my dashboard showing recent droppers and visiting those droppers. I actually do make an effort to read those sites, even the “make big money” sites.
Zimbra has officially released 5.0 this week and yesterday they released their beta desktop client was tons of improvements. I have a been a big fan of Zimbra for a while and am currently in the process of migrating to the latest version. I really like how they operate and the speed of how they fix bugs and add new features.
The frustrating part is that they are owned by Yahoo! and we all know what is going on with Yahoo. So now my days have the added fun of monitoring the fate of Zimbra by scanning recent headlines from google news with searches like “Zimbra” and “Yahoo.” So far I have not seen one positive article about the fate of Zimbra. Hopefully it just means that the news media outlets just don’t have a clue but it feels like they may be right this time. I have also been following the forum threads in Zimbra about this issue but nothing has came out of that either. The people in the forums seem to think that Zimbra’s open source background will help it survice but that does nothing for places that want the added features and support of the Network Edition. Hopefully soon Yahoo will make a decision and at least we will know more about the fate of Zimbra. The one positive thing is Zimbra hasn’t shut down shop yet and continues everyday to keep working on a great product.
