I drive to work a lot more now than I did with my previous job. The old job had me spending hours on the Metra every week. The thing that amazes me during my morning drives was the amount of people that would ride a bicycle in the snow. In fact it seemed like more people would ride a bike when it snowed. It’s not very fun to be half awake and worry about these nuts on the street riding bikes in the snow and ice in the morning. So now I’m predicting that they will put the bikes away and start riding the bus since the snow is melting.
Did you forget to buy lobster or the filet mignons? Well I have located some great recipes that are slightly different. What’s more Valentine’s Day than pink stuff and hearts?
For the beef lovers, here is a great recipe.
For those that prefer pork, here is a recipe to try.
I don’t remember exactly why I thought I had enough free time to migrate from the Serendipity blog software to Wordpress. There are just a bagillion different options available in Wordpress that I didn’t know was available.
The weather here makes it feel like I live in Minnesota or something. Now we have to deal with a road salt shortage. You think somebody would have figured out we needed more salt a little sooner. To make up for the warning, I got a voicemail from an automated message that sounded worse than a speak and spell and the voice told me to be careful because Aurora is running out of salt and it’s snowing. Thanks for the warning crappy automated message.
Zimbra has officially released 5.0 this week and yesterday they released their beta desktop client was tons of improvements. I have a been a big fan of Zimbra for a while and am currently in the process of migrating to the latest version. I really like how they operate and the speed of how they fix bugs and add new features.
The frustrating part is that they are owned by Yahoo! and we all know what is going on with Yahoo. So now my days have the added fun of monitoring the fate of Zimbra by scanning recent headlines from google news with searches like “Zimbra” and “Yahoo.” So far I have not seen one positive article about the fate of Zimbra. Hopefully it just means that the news media outlets just don’t have a clue but it feels like they may be right this time. I have also been following the forum threads in Zimbra about this issue but nothing has came out of that either. The people in the forums seem to think that Zimbra’s open source background will help it survice but that does nothing for places that want the added features and support of the Network Edition. Hopefully soon Yahoo will make a decision and at least we will know more about the fate of Zimbra. The one positive thing is Zimbra hasn’t shut down shop yet and continues everyday to keep working on a great product.
